To help ensure that things run smoothly (or that is the plananyhow), I've put together a few rough guidelines for this one. I know that some people take longer to read a book (busy, got a bunch of books to read before, work, kids, etc)...

1. Please try to have this book read within 3 weeks. I know thisisn't possible, but if you make an effort to try that is all I can ask.
2. Please journal when you receive the book.
3. When about halfway through, please contact the next person on the list for their mailing address.
4. Please journal again when you've read the book and it is on its way.
5. Have fun! Reading is supposed to be fun!

Second novel in the trilogy about Vlad, it was fun to see once more Vlad and Leila, and how their relationship would evolve. We actually see the relationship developed more, and there is after all a human side to the prince of darkness. As usual, the writing is nice and fun, well-paced and “hooking”. There’s a good dose of humour and a bit of seriousness when needed. I’m looking forward to read the last book of this trilogy, whenever it will come out.

Will mail the book to the next reader later this week.

EDIT: the book is now travelling to the next reader as of today, July 16th.

First off, I really need to read Bram Stoker's Dracula, especially since one of the main characters is Dracula. Fair enough this series does give you snippets of his life and you don't necessarily have had to read Bram Stoker's book, but at the same time, I feel it would make more sense, but at the same time Leila (the main character) hasn't read Dracula either...

Looking back on previous Jeaniene Frost novels, I have only ever rated one other book this high. This goes to show that she can write amazing stories. And this one is definitely up there.

I'm usually excited when I pick up another one of her books, or when they come through my door, but this one had a little spark in it, that kept me reading on and on and on and on. I just couldn't stop.

I also like how it wasn't the same villain as in the first book. Jeaniene Frost could've easily had done that yet she switched it up, and although there were predictable scenes, I felt involved and connected.

I like that other characters from previous books turned up, and Cat had a pretty secondary scene that I liked a lot. I reckon they should be involved more.

The third book might bring the characters in though, and I cannot believe it's going to be the last book in this spin-off series!

Overall, if I had to pick any Jeaniene Frost book to re-read, this would be the one book I'd choose, I just couldn't put it down.

Will be sending it on it's way within the week.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:

Sent this book off, it's now in the post!

Sent this to OssieFry. I am aware that she is no longer active on BC and it seems she has been removed from the spiral. However this book has been on the side of my desk begging me to send it off to someone, anyone. And since the spiral organiser said it was mine to do with what I like I decided to send it out.

OssieFry does have all the other books in the series, and I couldn't help feeling this is separated from the rest, and so now it will be reunited, and maybe, just maybe, someone will JE it sometime :)

Are you sure you want to delete this item? It cannot be undone.
