My Thoughts:
This is the fifth book in the Christy Miller series. There are several good lessons in this book. One of the most memorable is Todd and Christy's bridge moments. They learn that they can face their fears and challenges but they also learn that they must do so on their own timetables and not before.
Christy learns to trust in the face of jealousy. She and Paula both learn a lesson in attracting boys in the proper way. We love and remember her decision to always eat the type of food that a restaurant is known for. Good reminder to branch out and try new things.
We see Christy doing a lot of growing up in this book. This is the book where she writes her first letter to her future husband.
This is a fun book, set in Hawaii, with some good history and geography thrown in with great characters and stories.
Our Peculiar Treasures book club is discussing this book February 18, 2013 and I am registering a few copies to give out and hopefully find some new Christy Miller fans.
