I have finally finished reading What to Expect, two days after my due date so I guess this means I'm officially ready...
I can imagine this book was the 'go to' manual prior to the advent of the Internet. I still found it helpful and enjoyed the read along quality of each chapter with each new week of pregnancy.
I did not feel the information contained in the book was particularly alarmist or worrying but was helpfully factual and gave a good overall view of regular pregnancy symptoms alongside what to watch out for that 'might' be signs of problems.
