Bought this book second hand, because I want to read it :-)

I have read quite a few Pride and Prejudice SpinOffs and this one ist a good one :-)
The title is a bit confusing, because it is not really a diary. It is not written like a diary and Darcy would have been writing about a few other things a well and he definitely wouldn't have used all this direct speech.
But if you read this book as Darcys side of the story it is a good and entertaining novel. But I have to admit that by understanding Darcys motives and his changes better, he seems to good to be true and therefor he is getting a bit boring as a character ;-)
If you like it's gonna be a Ring :-)

Well ... nothing compares to the original. After "Death comes to Pemberley" by P.D. James this was my second Pride and Prejudice SpinOff and again I feel slightly disappointed, missing the wit and the genius of Jane Austen's novel.

Das Buch ist wohlbehalten bei mir eingetroffen. Kurz nachdem es auf die Rückreise gegangen war, hatte sich doch noch eine Interessentin gemeldet. Tja, das war wohl eine logistische Fehlplanung meinerseits :-(

Das Buch ist wieder wohlbehalten bei mir angekommen. Ob es wohl gefallen hat?
Das Buch hat mir genauso wie Captain Wentworth's Diary gut gefallen. Man kann aber auch nicht wirklich viel falsch machen, wenn man ein guter Schreiber ist und die originale Geschichte gut kennt.
Sicher, auch hier handelt es sich nicht um ein "echtes" Tagebuch, das wäre aber auch nicht sinnvoll, da es dann keinen Spaß mehr machen würde es zu lesen.
Insgesamt hat das Buch mir eine gute Lesezeit bereitet.
