I first hear of this title from one of the late bookcrosser aceofhearts reviews on the blog she and her daughter hoosierlauren reviewed books on. I have found myself almost purchasing this several times due to the artwork on the cover alone. I'm glad that I finally found this copy in my TBR pile.
I love a well written historical fiction book. The story of Bess and her river man Tom pulled me in from the start. I really loved the history of the falls and the early electric power companies which were popping up on the falls themselves. I've been to Niagara on the Canadian side and was awed by the amount of water flowing over them, to find out that I saw 50% of what should be passing over the falls was amazing in itself. :)
