Life of Pi

I'm leaving the rating at "haven't read" because it wouldn't be fair for me to rate the book. Frankly, I didn't like it. I only was able to get a chapter or two in before I couldn't take anymore. It's not that it's a bad book...it's NOT! It's just that it's not MY kind of book. And for those of you who say, "Oh, you should read it! It's a modern classic!" I stopped reading books because I "should" or because they were "classics" back in 1989 when I graduated from high school and no longer had to read what I was told to read (and evaluate) but could finally spend all my reading time on the books and genres *I* like.
This book, sadly, is missing in action. I promised it to collin26 but couldn't find it to send. So, until it's found and can be sent on its way, its status will remain reserved.
Finally found this one and have sent it off, as promised, to collin26 in the Philippines. I hope it is enjoyed more than I liked it (I hated it personally) and finds many new friends to read and love it. Happy reading!
This book came to me today (actually, I came to this book today). Anyway, I terribly love it! Thanks, Stephario!
What a wonderful book! It's very inspiring and refreshing too. The first chapters were more of a character sketch than narration, pertaining to the protagonist and his friends and relatives. Due to this, you'll get curious enough on who Pi is and you'll turn the page on and on until you get sucked into Pi's unbelievable journey. While reading this, I experienced different kinds of emotions such as shock, disbelief, disgust, horror, sadness, happiness etc. Also, this is the only book I've read that has a chapter comprising of only one sentence!
I know now why this book is extremely popular. Magnificent!
