She was just a girl, standing in front of a boy . . . wishing he looked more like Hugh Grant.

Scarlett loves the movies. But does she love sensible fiancé David just as much? With a big white wedding on the horizon, Scarlett really should have decided by now . . .

When she has the chance to house-sit in Notting Hill - the setting of one of her favourite movies - Scarlett jumps at the chance. But living life like a movie is trickier than it seems, especially when her new neighbour Sean is so irritating. And so irritatingly handsome, too.

Scarlett soon finds herself starring in a romantic comedy of her very own: but who will end up as the leading man?

This was a lovely, feel-good story. Although I did find Scarlett really irritating at first and I have'nt seen most of the movies mentioned in the book, I did enjoy the the story. Perfect chick-lit fluff for these dreary cold winter days.

I'm getting conflicting feelings about this book. I've read the last 80% of it in one sitting, so I cannot say it's not entertaining or captivating. I actually enjoyed it in a guilty sort of way. Yet I strongly disagree with a lot of its simplistic, flimsy, materialistic approach. I feel Scarlett has little to no agency in the most important decisions of her life and just follows the advice of the people around her. And I hate the way waving a magic wand just throws under the bus anything out of line with her wishes. The message I got was that money could buy anything, if only you weren't Scrooge McDuck.

Finally read after it gathered dust on my shelf for more than 4 years! Thank you for sharing :) My plan for this book is to let it hitch a ride to Oslo, unless somebody else eyes it first.

I found this book at the book buffet at the BookCrossing convention 2018 in Bordeaux, and it travelled with me back to Norway. Now I have read it, and I enjoyed it. An easy and light read, just for entertainment. Not I book I will remember, but I enjoyed it while it lasted (which was not very long, I had to finish it to see how it ended :)
