Monstrous Regiment

Danke an d-vineland fürs Zusenden.

Now I'm through and it is ok. But I have to admit that I don't like the books with Vimes so much - I'm more in the witches and DEATH.
Of course there were parts I liked very much such as following...
"Well, the lion is a big ol' coward, mostly. If you want trouble, you want to tangle with the lioness. They're killers, and they hunt together. It's the same everywhere. If you want big grief, look to the ladies." p.255
">It's a saber, Magda. (...)<
>But I'm only using it like a knife, Polly.<
>It's three feet long, Magda.<
>Size isn't important, Polly.<
>No one believes that.<" p.275
The explanation where all the abominations come from: "From your fear... They come from the part that hates the Other, that will not change. They come from the sum of all your pettiness and stupidity and dullness. You fear tomorrow, and you've made your fear your god." p.283
">We all know he's a man,< she said. >But he's having such fun and he irons like a demon!<
>You won't tell the guards?<
>What?< said the girl, grinning. >And do the ironing ourselves? Anyway, we're dying to find out what happens when Daphne goes on her date...<" p.288
"Women always seemed to be doing things with their hands - holding babies, or pans, or plates, or wool, or a brush, or a needle. Even when they were talking, busyness was happening." p.374
I've already asked for the next adress so the book hopefully travels on this week...

Für coco7. Und Mr. Coco??
Vielen Dank!
I loved the story. In my opinion, it's among the best. Lovely characters, great humor.
