a complete rip-roaring book, set on Islay, which is where my folks live. I read his newest book 'Hit and Run' recently and the style is similar to this but the fact that it was set on Islay was even better. His characters are quite unsympathetic and the events far-fetched, but brilliant all the same. Similar style to Christopher Brookmyre but much, much better.
