Thank you for sending me this wishlist book as part of UK Secret Santa 2012!
This was a disturbing read, as expected. I'd seen the film a while ago and I must say I liked it more than the book. The conversational style of the writing was a little off-putting considering the ending, but then again, it made it bearable to read. So this book left me with mixed feelings.
I'm sending this off to the next reader as part of the Wishlist tag game.

Thank you ! I did read Picoult's 19 minutes about a similar theme, but I don't know the full story of this one yet. Guess that 'll help digesting.
Thanks chucles for making the book available, thanks blue berry for sending it.
Also for the gorgeous card !

Well, this book left a foul taste in my mouth.
Though well written, and clearly 'realistic' considering its theme, I really had some issues with the last chapter.
Without wanting to spoil anything (so better not read further if you still have to read the book / SPOILER ALERT) : because
-of the very last sentence. I don't think a mum would react like that and I even felt angry at this fictional character because of it (this of course is a pro on the account of the literary qualities the book obviously has)...
- because of the last chapter and the range-scene. That's just too sad and too painful for my taste.

This book will be put aside for the next meeting.
