From the editors:

A comic yet sinister tale of wicked spirits and suburban mediums from the Booker Prize-winning author of ‘Wolf Hall’ and ‘A Place of Greater Safety’.

Alison Hart, a medium by trade, tours the dormitory towns of London’s orbital ring road with her flint-hearted sidekick, Colette, passing on messages from beloved dead ancestors. But behind her plump, smiling persona hides a desperate woman: she knows the terrors the next life holds but must conceal them from her wide-eyed clients. At the same time she is plagued by spirits from her own past, who infiltrate her body and home, becoming stronger and nastier the more she resists…

Shortlisted for the Orange Prize, Hilary Mantel’s supremely suspenseful novel is a masterpiece of dark humour and even darker secrets.

Found this book on the bookshelf of the pension "The Schoolmistress With The Golden Eyes" during my summer vacation at Molivos (Mithimna), Lesbos island (see photo). I was attracted by the funny cover :οP

Anyway, I was sure it would come in handy. A Halloween release challenge is on amongst the greek bookcrossing community. Many ghost books are going to be "released in the wild" for other people to find and enjoy. Hope this is one of them :ο)

Released 11 yrs ago (10/27/2012 UTC) at National Garden - Εθνικός κήπος in Athens - Αθήνα, Attica Greece

WILD RELEASE NOTES:

Released this book on the spooky kiosk with the fountain inside the National Garden of Athens. The statue in the fountain holds a water pot the same way the ghost holds a vacuum cleaner on the books cover!

Anyway, a young couple was making out behind the kiosk I hope no ghosts disturbed them. I know I did, just for a bit! :-P
