From the back cover: This charming story is drawn from the true adventures of May Sarton's own cat and recounts his evolution from a Cat-About-Town to a Gentleman Cat and finally his emergence as a genuine Fur Person.
Enjoyable, quick read for cat lovers!

RABCK to Lizabeth86.

This cute little book arrived safely to its new home today. Loving cats and considering them more as people than animals I can hardly wait to read this book.

What a wonderful, charming little story this was. Now I know what MY cat is really thinking (LOL). Thanks so much prplpec for thinking of me and sending this. I especially love the cat on the cover of this book. What a great pose.

UPDATE: Mailed 1/7/04 to fellow bookcrosser Shaunesay who is another cat lover.

I loved this book! Thank you so much Lizabeth86 for sending it to me! I'm considering making it a bookray, because I want to share it with other catlovers. Very fast, humorous, and heart-warming read. We have a fur person that has adopted us as well, and there are certain things that he has let us know how it will be! A big black cat that we named Ebony, who came to us at about 2 years old, when his original family apparently didn't care for him well enough, he was very thin. We started feeding him, and he stayed, and now he's been with us longer than he wasn't! He too has gone from a Cat About Town to a Cat of Peace, although he will definitely defend his territory if need be!

I just love how Tom Jones "reads the paper" in the mornings! An adorable story, and one I will be on the lookout for to add a copy to the personal collection!

Thanks again Lizabeth86!

Bookray!

What a delightful little book!! It can be read in an hour. This was written in 1957, yet is timeless in the life of a gentleman cat!! I loved the story of Tom Jones life. I will be sending this on soon.........

The Fur Person has nestled in here, pleased to find spring already sprung, and happy for a soft cushion in a new basket to rest up from the journey. Seems a quick read, so I'll journal again after I've finished.

What a pleasure it was to sit in the sun with a cat on my lap (and another on the next chair, and one on the pool shelf, and one lurking under a bush by the bird feeder, and another on the picnic table, and the last one on the roof) and enjoy this charming tale of the life of Tom Jones, Gentle Cat.

One of our cats is a singer, too, and I know he sings this song, though he changes the name to his own!

I've a coat like silk
Paws white as milk,
I'm a catly cat,
An aristocrat.
If you wish to see
Tom Jones, I'm he,
This Jones victorious
Glossy and glorious,
Lordly and lazy
And catnip crazy,
Yes, Glorious Jones
Is me!

This sweet book is off to kayters in Georgia.

Quick read, really cute and entertaining. Made me more conscious of my own kitty's moods and needs! My gentleman cat became a "cat of peace" probably a bit earlier than he had intended, but that's what he gets for getting stuck on a fence!
