Alice's Tulips

This is my first book from this author and I must say I enjoyed the book a lot. It's a fast read, in the form of a series of letters from Alice to her sister Lizzie. Alice chatted about worries about her newly wed husband who went off to fight Civil War, her disapproving mother-in-law, the hardship of the farm, the gossips of the town, her quilt circle, her friends and foes, life, death, and everything in her life. Alice is a lively spirit, not always wise, but feisty and likable.
Look forward to reading more books from her.
This is now going to my birthday partner. Enjoy!

A wishlist book from my birthday partner! Thank you so much azuki!
I loved this book so much. Alice has so much spirit and determination and deals with adversity without resentment, all without losing her mischievous sense of humour.

Got to it at last!
What a lovely book, I was hooked from the first page and wanted to know Alice's troubles could or would be resolved.
I would read nore by this author if any came my way.
