3 journalers for this copy...
This is the first book I ever bought on ebay! And yet I still haven't got around to reading it...
A lovely little book, I can see why it's a classic. Can't say it's as traumatising as people always say it is but perhaps if I read it when I was 10 years old I would have a different reaction!
The Lapine language really gets stuck in your head though! Silflay hraka!

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
Will bring to the meetup at Filmhouse Cafe.
Picked up at the meetup yesterday thank you
We all have those classic novels that it feels like everyone bar us has read, and this was one of mine. Glad to have finally done it. I hadn't deliberately intended to finish it over Easter weekend, but I enjoyed the coincidence. Bunnies everywhere!
Just like teapot, I didn't find Watership Down as emotional a read as I expected. Neither did I spot the 'Bright Eyes' quotes that several people sent me after mentioning on Facebook that I was reading this. I guess they only feature in the film?
It was a good story, evocatively written with lovely language, but isn't going to become one of my personal favourites. I guess I'm not enough of an animal lover. (Though I did get a sense of outrage after reading about a rabbit cull over in New Zealand this morning!)

Safe with me, thank you !
Against all odds, a delightful and engrossing read. I loved it !
