This book arrived safely this week, thank you so much for sending it so far! I am currently reading another in this series -- "Missing Joseph" and when I'm done with it I will look forward to this one. I love books by this author! And I appreciate your posting it so far when it was such a heavy book!

Oh how I love Elizabeth George's books! I finished this today, and this was wonderfully satisfying and a little discomfiting as her books tend to be. I would have begun it sooner except for the fact that as it is a large book and I tend to read while I am out and about, I kept picking up lighter things to take with me. I began this one a little slowly, but about a third in I was totally hooked.
SPOILERS:
I did find the parts about the three young boys rather disturbing to read. In the end I thought it was going to go into more unpleasant detail than it did, but it wasn't as bad as I thought. I had ideas about where the plot was going, but not everything. Gordon Jossie was a sad, tragic character, wasn't he. I fully and freely admit my dislike for Isabelle Ardery. I think she is a poor substitute for Helen. I'm totally with Barbara on this one. The end conversation with Barbara and Azhar is very telling and I'm curious to see where that goes. As always, Ms George delivers a book peopled with characters that are so very real that you feel impacted by their actions and feelings long after you put the book down. A very, very good read. Highly recommended.

WILD RELEASE NOTES:
Delighted to find a little free library - went on a walk and dropped off a few books (picked some up, too, but that's a story for another day...) As I'm not sure where exactly in Arlington I was, I am making these release notes general and will amend later if I can. I hope this book finds a great new home!
