This is a fantastic book; I couldn't put it down, though I was increasingly horrified by the actions of the protagonists.

I started this book not knowing at all what it was about, so I guess I got a little sidetracked when I realized that this was not a regular novel but a supernatural one. I did not enjoy it very much, at least not all of it, I did like the Martin/Marijke story but the twins, Julia and Valentina were so bland, and Elspeth and Robert so utterly annoying there was no way I was going to pass that. I do love to travel back to London, a magical rainy place that I long to revisit.

Wow, this has also been with greenbadger (hi!). =) And thank you Nakipa for the wishlist book. I loved The Time Traveler's Wife, I hope I'll enjoy this one too.
The story was really disturbing and the whole ghost thing didn't feel right to me. Everything seemed to happen too easily. At first I liked the story but in the end the only characters I cared for were Martin and his family. It felt unrealistically cruel how Valentine treated her twin and it just felt wrong to me.

I really liked The Time Traveler's Wife and this book was no disappointment either. I love Niffenegger's imagination! The story just does not go the way you think it will, surprises in every corner. Enjoyable read.
