Memoir in graphic format: somehow "graphic memoir" might not give the right impression.
From the back cover:
Distant and exacting, Bruce Bechdel was an English teacher and director of the town funeral home, which Alison and her family referred to as the "Fun Home." It was not until college that Alison, who had recently come out as a lesbian, discovered that her father was gay. A few weeks after this revelation, he was dead, leaving a legacy of mystery for his daughter to resolve.
I was told that something similar happened to an acquaintance from high school: he came out during college, and apparently his father also came out at around the same time...and then killed himself (definitely suicide, unlike this author's father). Talk about having issues with your parents: how do you resolve that?
Here's another copy on my shelf.

This book is looking for a new reader by way of GoryDetails's LGBT shrinking bookbox.
Sadly, this bookbox met with a major mailing mishap back in 2012: it was returned to me, empty. Hopefully the books are still out there, traveling, somewhere...
