Well, here it goes. This is the first book that I'm registering. It was not a difficult choice. It had to be a book that I really liked. (Although I have some books of dubious quality in my library, I would never set one free with my name attached to it in anyway. Selling to a used book store is another matter.) Tolkien's books have given me years of pleasure. He is one of those authors that I return to again and again. The second criteria is that I had to have multiple copies of the book. Obviously, if it is a book that I really like and re-read periodically, I am not going to give away my only copy.

This particular copy of The Hobbit is one that I have had for a long time. It is a green hard cover. I long ago lost the dust cover for this copy, so it does not look like the picture. I do not yet know where I will relase this book. I need to give it some more thought. But it will either be in Iowa along Highway 30 or while on vacation the first week of June when I will be visting Kansas and Colorado.
