This trade paperback was one of several books sent to me by BCer chefcrossing for my LGBT bookbox. Thanks so much!
It was interesting to compare this to Dean's novel Mogul, which, while fiction, seems to feature many similar incidents to those from Dean's life. But I admit that his whole inspirational-speaker tone tended to put me off; even at his lowest points, he makes it hard to forget how well he's doing now {wry grin}. I liked some aspects of his journey, such as his gradual realization that the drag queens and camp gay men were worthy of more respect than his younger self gave them.

I'm putting this book in my LGBT-themed shrinking bookbox, which will soon be on its way to its first stop with quietorchid in Minnesota. Hope everyone enjoys it!
