Jessica is based on the true story of a young girl's fight for justice. Set in the harsh Australian bush against the back drop of WW1 it tells of jessica's love for a man and the rivalry with her sister who wants the status and wealth attached to marrying this man. Jessica is a tomboy and grows up working on the family farm. Her father is her protector against the ambitions of her mother and sister. When her father dies jessica is pushed aside and finds herself alone with an illegitimate child. her only friends are aboriginals who later are to lose their children to the state. Jessica fights for their rights and the return of their children. An enthralling but brutal tale.
