Bought at the North County Regional Library in Cornelius, NC for a quarter. TBR Note that this is well-used ex-library book.
One-liner on front cover -- "Death is withing arm's reach ... every time the phone rings."
Mira Books, c. 2001. Learnt today that the author's real name is Sharon Sala. Well there you go ...
rmbooklady sent me a request for it so shall bump it up on TBR pile :)

I thought I would make a start on this one this afternoon. It's quite bizarre as this is the second book in a short time that deals with nasty hypnotism. The other one was "False Memory," by Dean Koontz [a library read for me]. Just had to make this observation.
Last night I finished my other read, Lord Jim, and made a good dent into this one. Yippee!
I'm going to do something a little different here - make a daily entry. My sig file on my email
has a passage from my current read. This changes daily, usually first thing in the morning. I
thought it would be nice for you to see these quotes, too.
Why these particular passages? I look at the spot where I stopped when we turned out the
light, hubby reads too, and see if anything is worthwhile sharing. Sometimes it's cliche but
when it is, I often suspend my preconceptions and look at it as if seeing it for the first time.
Often the imagery is sharp. Anyhow enough babbling. …

"You are going to the cops, aren't you?"
"Yes. Whether they believe me or not is another story."
"They mess with you, I'll tie knots in their asses they won't ever get out." p73

The smile on Ginny's face went south. p254
[okay, okay -- it's a cliche, but when first written it was a goodie]
Saturday, December 20th, 2003 --
The ocean breeze lifted the tufts of white hair still clinging to his scalp, ruffling the ends until they stood up from behind his ears like sheer, snowy feathers. p287
Sunday, December 21st, 2003 --
The color bled from his face. "You play hardball all the way, don't you, babe?"
"It's my life, Sully. Allow me the dignity of living it." p351

Just finished this one a few moments ago. It was an okay read. There were a couple of loose ends that are left hanging at the end. Anyhow, it kept my attention for most of it and it's certainly much better than watching TV lol. Shall get it out to the next reader shortly.
