I've heard of this book before ( didin't realise it was the first ina trilogy), and am curious about the author, so I picked it up!

I'm afraid this wasn't really my thing - the protagonist spends much of the book wandering around the fantasy world, coming across various faerie folk, and having variosu adventures, but nothing much happens! I only kept reading to see if I was right about the ending - and it appears I was. I've read wikipedia to find out what happens in the trilogy so feel no need to read any more...
