I check in on Cake Wrecks just about every day, both for the weekday wrecks and for the Sunday Sweets. The wrecks sometimes make me shake my head and wonder what (if anything) was going through the minds of the cake decorators, but the commentary (by both the writers and the readers) can almost always make me laugh, even at the most horrific examples of cake you're ever likely to see.

On the other hand, Sundays are reserved for "the good stuff", and those cakes can be jaw-dropping in a whole different way. For instance, the last cake in this post features a truly amazing rendition of a certain caterpillar..

This book features some classics from the site, plus new material that you won't find there, and more of Jen's humor to tie everything together. Great fun, and certainly enough to encourage me to look for Wreck the Halls as well.

Here's another copy on my shelf.

Sending this out as a bookray to share the fun!

These are pretty much my standard bookring/ray instructions:

1. Make a quick journal entry when you receive the book so we know it got to you safely.

2. VOLUNTARY - let's see if anyone reads this part! ;) If you're willing, please PM hyphen8 for my address and send me a postcard with some interesting stamps on it for my mom the stamp collector, especially if you're not in the US.

3.Read and send on within 1 month - or make a journal entry to let us know how it's going if you need to keep the book longer. I realize that sometimes life gets in the way of BookCrossing, but please keep us posted on what's happening.

4.Make a journal entry when you've finished - tell us what you thought! If you have a cake wreck story of your own that you're willing to share, that would be fun. :)

5. Check back here to make sure the mailing order hasn't changed, then PM the next person in line for an address. Even if you've mailed something to that person before, please double-check their mailing info and make sure they're still interested and able to participate.

6. Use whatever shipping method works best for you; if you have a surface mail option, that's fine. If you're able to use delivery confirmation/tracking that's always nice.

Current order (subject to change):
*PLEASE* check before sending to the next person!

Released 11 yrs ago (9/8/2012 UTC) at Honolulu, Hawaii USA

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:

I've read that people used to send cakes by mail, but I've never been quite sure how that worked (other than fruitcake, which seems to be indestructible). I'd expect the end result to be a cake wreck, but hopefully a tasty one.

This book is headed out to start a bookray - currently very short - and I hope it will spread some happiness over the course of its travels.

Did you want sprinkles with that?

This was waiting for me when I arrived home today -- I immediately opened it and have been laughing uncontrollably ever since. This is one of my all time favorite websites and I check it every day for the amazingly awful (and on Sundays, awesome) photos, and for Jen's snarky comments.

Will probably hang onto it for a couple of weeks to reread several times while easing into the new fiscal year for the federal government.

Happy Falker Satherhood!

Naked mohawk baby carrot jockeys!! Sprinkles!! Plastic flotsam and jetsam!! What's not to love in this book?!

Jen Yates is a genius of sarcasm and knowing what will strike the funny bones of so many people. I check her blog almost every day and so many times laugh much louder than I should at work. She keeps me sane.

Thanks for sharing this book, it was a great stress reliever!

I got the book in the mail, ripped the package open and was soon laughing too hard to remember to journal it. I love this book! Lifts your spirits, and dissolves you into helpless giggles.

I shared it at work, so quite a few people have now snorted, laughed, or sadly said 'I don't get it'. Ah well, I admit ("Olympic Rings") on a special ordered cake is not to everyone's taste. Thanks for sharing this!

I am in the middle of reading this book with another one and will mail to the next reader after Thanksgiving.

A delightful book. Being a cake decorator, I think one should be able to spell, have knowledge of grammar and be creative in words. Or just leave the cake blank. Book is going to the next reader. Thanks hyphen8 for sharing.

This book arrived last week, just before Christmas. I couldn't wait to share it with my d-i-l, who loves to bake cupcakes. We spent time on Christmas Day browsing through this book. So funny!
