This is the full triology of the life of Kristin Lavransdatter in middle-ages Norway.
Well, she is a child, marries, has children and dies and that all takes more than 1000 pages. There are stretches where it gets more interesting (especially if some old politics come into play), that made me read on. But all in all it was a drag and I just finished it because Sigrid Unset was on my list of Literature Nobel Prices to read.
