Flash Gordon: The Space Circus

I came across this handsome, pulp-style-cover '74 paperback at the Used Book Superstore, and couldn't resist it!
It turned out to be a very entertaining story, in which Flash gets captured by aliens from a planet where slavery is in full force; he's bought by the owner of a traveling circus, and bands up with the other slave-performers (including a hawk-man from Mongo who immediately recognizes the famous man who helped overthrow Ming!). While they're attempting escape, Dale and Zarkov are trying to find Flash, and all in all it's a dandy little adventure.
[I enjoyed the campy 1980 Flash Gordon film very much - lots of goofy fun. (If any future Flash films are in the offing, this book would make a decent one, but I won't hold my breath.) See also the TV Tropes entries on the original series, the film, and other adaptations.]

I'm adding this book to the I Hate SF bookbox, which will soon be on its way to BCer grubsneerg in Pennsylvania. Hope everyone enjoys the selection!
Picked this out of bookstogive's I Hate Sci/Fi (but you don't have to) bookbox. Ok.. I got a good laugh over the cover art. Then I read the back cover and laughed some more. How could I resist?? I remember watching some Flash Gordon movies (black and white verions) way back when I was a kid and could manage to stay up late enough or when they showed them on weekend afternoons. Good cheesy entertainment! Thanks for sharing, GoryDetails. :-D
