In lovely watercolors, Goodall follows the changes of a typical farmhouse from the early Middle Ages through the Elizabethan, Georgian, Regency, and Victorian periods to the mechanized farm of today.
I learned a lot about English history looking at the beautifully detailed colored illustrations in this book.
