And then there is 11-year-old Max -- Frannie's amazing discovery -- and one of the most unforgettable creations in thriller fiction.

My DH and I finished reading/listening to this book today. I liked it much better than he did. I think he's too much of a scientist to enjoy some imagination. His comment was "it could never happen." I thought it was a fun read, although sad/sickening what they were doing (experiments) to the children. Now I'm looking forward to reading "The Lake House" which continues the story. My guess is this is a 'must read' first to anyone wanting to read "The Lake House" next.
I'm offering it as a book chain on Read-n-Swap.

received in the mail today from dear Diane!
I just finished this book last night. Parts of it seemed to drag a bit, but that could be because I read it's sequel, The Lake House, first.
passing along to a fellow bookcrosser as a RABCK
