Blurb:
X marks the spot - and when that spot is a corpse's naked back and the X is carved in blood, DI Tom Thorne is in no doubt that the dead man is the latest victim of a particularly vicious killer. This is brutal turf warfare between north London gangs. Organised crime boss Billy Ryan is moving into someone else's patch, and that someone is not best pleased. For Throne, a tenous link between two cases becomes two pieces of the same puzzle; past and present fuse together to form a new and very nasty riddle. And when an X is carved on DI Tom Thorne's front door, he knows the smouldering embers of this case are about to erupt into flames...

Mark Billingham will be a speaker at the BCUK Unconvention in Colchester on 29th September 2012.

Thank you very much, ApoloniaX, for the parcel of three books and a lovely postcard of Bremen which clattered through my letter box this morning.
I enjoyed the page-turning Buried and look forward to reading another in the DI Thorne series before seeing the author in Colchester in September.

While this modern crime thriller is probably too bland for thriller-readers who enjoy reading thrilling thrillers, it's still rather too thrilling for my taste!
I'm pleased I've read it - but two novels is quite sufficient introduction to Mark Billingham's style and I won't be repeating the experience! Thanks again, ApoloniaX. See you in Colchester! I note that there are no others waiting for this BookRay, so I'm leaving it Available for a while!
As the front cover art for this edition is different from that shown above, I've scanned it in here - complete with BookCrossing sticker :-)

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:

In the post for the next person on the list! Thanks for joining, Reetpetite!

Over a million people around the world give their books a unique BookCrossing IDentity number (BCID) before sending them out to find new readers. Since the start of the scheme in April 2001 well over 9 million such books have been put into circulation. This is one of them!
Our hope is that we can track the progress of our books once they've left our hands - and that's possible if finders like you visit the website, key in the BCID and leave a comment, however long or short. It's fun, it doesn't cost anything and you can remain anonymous if you wish. You don't have to join but if you do you'll be able to number and track your own books!
