Read it in a short amount of time and had trouble putting it down.
Thank you indys_wardrobe!
This is awesome! I've been hoping to find another copy of this book to put into BC-circulation, since it is quite a rare title and a 1001-book!
TO ALL FUTURE OWNERS OF THIS BOOK: PLEASE DO NOT WILD RELEASE THIS BOOK! IT IS HARD TO COME BY AND A LOT OF BCERS WANTS TO READ IT AS A PART OF THE 1001-CHALLENGE. WHEN YOU HAVE READ IT, PLEASE RAY IT FORWARD! Pretty please! Thank you!

Blurb:
Another powerful novel, set in the west of Ireland, during the Civil War, by one of the country's most distinguished writers. A group of young people, cut off in Connemara by IRA action, are forced to come to terms with life and death. As the plot builds to its inevitable climax, their haunting experiences change their lives and their hopes forever. This is a disturbing and unforgettable book.

It's on it's way!
Headed to the next person in line. I didn't know oppem's tastes well enough to know if she would have liked this book, but I'm sorry she didn't get a chance to find out.

mixed reactions to this book: some beautiful, descriptive writing, a slice of life during civil war - which can amplify or numb emotions, bring out the heroic or petty in us.
I cared about the babies, but not as much the young adult characters.
unsugar-coated reality, a bit disturbing.
Appreciated the chance to read this one - and am sending on to dicentragirl.
