Arrived safely today! I'm so excited. I had no idea this was a graphic novel and I've never read one. The first two books in the series (Metro Girl and Motor Mouth) were not graphic novels. How fun, something totally new! =) Thank you for sharing it with me.

Released 11 yrs ago (1/22/2013 UTC) at Wishlist Tag Game, A RABCK -- Controlled Releases

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:

Sending this WL RABCK to southernfryed as part of the Wishlist Tag Game. Filling a wish of NancyNova to "fill a wish of another BCer."

My comments: I didn't realize this was a 'graphic novel' and I've only read one prior to this. While its not usually my type of read, I must admit that I enjoyed it! The artwork was great and the text/story stayed true to the series. It was a fun read that I think Evanovich fans will enjoy. Happy reading!

This book has been on my wishlist for quite a while! Like dvg, graphic novels are not my normal reading choices. I did enjoy Metro Girl and Motor Mouth and it is good to step out of our normal routines once in a while, right? This is going right to the top of Mt. Toobie! Thanks so much!

FUN! I felt like a kid reading a comic book! Book is easily read in one sitting. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. Will be looking for the next one. The artwork is great! I will be sharing this book with my hubby and my sisters.

Received in the mail yesterday as part of the Surprise bookring game. Since I don't care for graphic novels or Janet Evanovich I will send it on to the next person on the list. Thanks for including me in the game and for sending a book to me.

Surprise! Didn't know what to expect from the surprise book ring, but will give it a go (not much into graphic novels, but there's always a first time for everything). Will contact the next person on the list to send he or she a surprise book.

Journal Entry 10 by wingminesaynwing at Huron, Ohio USA on Tuesday, July 8, 2014
Graphic novels really not my thing, but gave it a try. Interesting concept, though, a story that is more extensive than the typical comic book. Having said that, I will be sending it off to a person who may enjoy them more.

Certainly enjoyed the surprise book ring...thanks!

I was delighted to find this well-traveled graphic novel in the package with the returning bookring Wurst Seller; many thanks! (Something about the skulls and the Baron Samedi figure on the cover really appeals to me {wry grin}.)

Later: Very cute tale of bickering good guys trying to solve a mystery in the Florida swamplands. The voodoo aspects weren't surprising given the cover details, but the gallumphing Saint Bernard was... unexpected {grin}, as was the middle-of-the-night argument with one of the bad guys over leaving a live chicken in a car ("I cracked the window!" snarls the bad guy in self-justification). The art style's very "golden age of comic books", which added to the frivolity; quite fun! [Compare and contrast: the marvelous manga series Monster by Naoki Urasawa also features a real-world mystery story, but has a more realistic and gritty style.]
