The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest (Millennium Trilogy)

Third, and last, novel in the Stieg Larsson "Millenium" series. Some reviews suggested this might be the weakest - instead it was the best. Even with our heroine largely confined to her hospital room, the action was intriguing and the characters well-developed. In particular, those about whom we have come to care about over the series are depicted in sensitive ways - with a touch of the darkness of Swedish winters hovering over the directions of their interpersonal relations. A certain poignancy is felt by the reader as the trajectories of loves and relationships are drawn in unexpected and touching ways. The underlying story also is a powerful one, and the resolutions satisfying. Like many, a sadness is felt that the series is over, assured by the author's death, but the point reached is just right.
Best to read this series in its entireity. Certainly, book 3 would make much less sense without having read book 2. However, don't miss this one.
Passing the three books as a set to friends. Hopefully, you will encounter them similarly in the wild. Read them and enjoy.
