I bought this on 11/6 from my daughter's Trumpet Book Club order at school for $6.95. The ultimate long shot! Read about the crooked-legged horse who became a racing legend! Small horse rose from obscurity to become a champion.

I finished reading this yesterday (1/28). I must say I enjoyed the movie more than the book on this one. It's hard to grasp the quality of excitement at horse races through a book. Like listening to sports on the radio versus being their in person ... misses some of the excitement. Toward the end it did get exciting, but it seemed to be building up for a sad ending and wasn't.
