I really enjoyed this book. Elizabeth's eldest daughter got on my nerves a bit towards the end, I mean, falling in love with your uncle ewww. But maybe that was acceptable in the 15th century. Looking forward to reading more by this author.

Sorry it took so long to read this book but the past year and a half I have been on the road to recovery from a serious illness and this was the first book I have picked up and read. I really enjoyed reading of the life of Elizabeth Woodville and her children and intrigued by the disappearance of her sons in the tower. So much speculation about their disappearance and thought that Philippa Gregory did a great job in developing that story line. All in all, I found this a wonderful story and as usual Philippa Gregory did not disappoint. Thank you Icila for sending this book to me and will certainly pass it on.

Thank you very much for the book and the nice card! :)
I hope you'll have a bit less snow around christmas so that you can at least leave the house! We once got a bit snowed in in our village two or three years back around Christmas, but it was actually kind of nice because it was super sunny the following days and everything looked gorgeous. ^_^

I liked this book well enough to seek out some of Gregory's other books. Elizabeth Woodville was really a difficult and not overly likeable character, but I guess considering the times in which she lived it was the only way to survive. Gregory did a good job fleshing out the history surrounding the House of York and Elizabeth's role in it; and I liked her theory about the Princes in the Tower. Could've done without all the witchcraft and the Melusina legend, though, although I understand why the author decided to include it.
