This slim softcover contains accounts of real-life tragedies associated with vacation spots. I'd hoped for more of a mix of true-crime and rescue tales, but while there's some of that, the book reads more as a somewhat sensationalized cautionary tale - though many if the incidents listed here could and do happen closer to home as well. A few of the cases do involve tourists who were taking unnecessary risks, ignoring warning signs, etc. So... just be careful out there! (The book does close with a list of ten "be aware" tips for travelers, perhaps the best part of the book.)

I plan to leave this book on the book-swap shelf in the Tyngsboro post office lobby at around 3; hope the finder enjoys it!
