Journal Entry 1 by fracula from Calgary, Alberta Canada on Friday, June 15, 2012
Thirty-five letters of humour, love, and compassion. Jennifer was diagnosed with breast cancer in October 1999. In order to communicate with her through the trial of surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation, Oliver and Maudie Gray, two precocious Siamese cats who adored her, wrote the letters with help from their Live-in-Person (LiP). The letters span a two- and one-half year period.

The letters were a non-threatening, non-evasive way of keeping in touch with her during this difficult time. A letter was written for each treatment that she received. With humour and their neighbours, events, and generally their philosophy on life.
