Death In Daytime: A Soap Opera Mystery

While giving away books for free at the Gaithersburg Book Festival, I took some time to visit the Friends of the Library book sale booth to scout out some good reads. This one was on my wishlist for quite some time, as it seemed likely to be a quick read and a fluffy guilty pleasure -- couldn't pass it up.
A decent and interesting read -- you don't have to be a soap opera fan to enjoy this, although it might have helped a little. The characters in the book are interesting and not what I was expecting based on my memory of the author (or her characters) from television. The mystery aspect is well-done, although I do think a few more hints might not have been bad in shaping the plot. Would read others in this series.

Fun read - as 6of8 said, you don't have to be a soap opera fan to enjoy it - and I am by *no* means a fan. In fact, I've never managed to watch a full episode of any soap and had never heard of the author. For that reason, the rather detailed background information about what goes into filming soaps was kind of a snooze. However, the story is good and the characters interesting. I would consider reading more in the series. Thanks for sharing this, 6of8!
