Hardback; library discard -- heavily used Bought, too late, for the Bradbury release in the midwest. If it isn't released prior, perhaps it can be sent for next year's grand release...

Journal Entry 3 by karendawn from Lafayette, Indiana USA on Tuesday, April 27, 2004
Most of the stories in this book were just so-so. I didn't really like many of them, especially those that just ended, seemingly without a point. One story, however, was different. The title story was one I discovered I was already familiar with. I saw it as a movie a long while back - The Electric Grandmother. I loved the movie and I really liked the story, so it was definitely worth reading this book to discover that gem. Stories included in this book: The Kilimanjaro Device The Terrible Conflagration up at the Place Tomorrow's Child The Women The Inspired Chicken Motel Downwind from Gettysburg Yes, We'll Gather at the River The Cold Wind and the Warm Night Call, Collect The Haunting of the New I Sing the Body Electric! The Tombling Day Any Friend of Nicholas Nickleby's Is a Friend of Mine Heavy-Set The Man in the Rorschach Shirt Henry the Ninth The Lost City of Mars Christus Apollo (a poem)

I read and enjoyed most of the stories in this book. There are a few I haven't read, yet. I am looking forward to finishing this book and passing it along. But I've been waiting to make a journal entry, mainly because I can't come up with what I feel is a clever enough spot to release it! For now, I'm going to try organizing a bookring. Thanks, karendawn, for making this book available! Ray Bradbury is my favorite author, and I am grateful for the opportunity to read this book.

Thanks, rivet, for the book and for your concern! :o) Charley spared teh Tampa Bay area, others south of here weren't so lucky! :o( I'll read this book in small doses, because I have several rings and rays in my hands. I'll try to come up with a nice release stop for this one.
