From the back cover: "Two generations of Merediths have farmed the land running down to the River Dean. Robin Meredith bought his dairy farm just before he married Caro, an enigmatic Californian, while his father Harry and brother Joe worked the adjoining arable farm. But now Caro has died, as much a mystery to the Meredith family as she was when she arrived twenty years ago, leaving Robin and the rest of the family to cope with the loss."
Another Joanna Trollope book that I enjoyed reading. The character development leads the narrative and the reader is able to feel and experience the thoughts and emotions of Robin, Zoe, Judy and all others as they cope with loss and change in their lives. Especially enjoyed reading the perspective of 3-year-old Hughie and how he was able to influence change in the lives of the adults around him.
