Jamaica Inn
3 journalers for this copy...
A young girl comes to live with her evil uncle who is the Landlord of Jamaica Inn, Devon. This is a story about smuggling along the cornish coast in, I think, the early 1800s. It's so long since I read this book I can't exactly remember. I did enjoy it alot at the time and I have even visited Jamaica Inn (which is in Bodmin Moor) a couple of times in the early 70s and early 80s.
I've now bought another copy of Jamaica Inn as this one is looking very tatty. I shall take it up to the Bookcrossing meet up on 17th July. Well *somebody* might want it! What d'ya expect for nothing?
Release planned for Saturday, July 17, 2004 at BCUK 2004 Unconvention @ Apres Bar, Summerrow in Birmingham, England Controlled Releases.
Not exactly a themed release but the Apres Bar will do well enough.

utter, utter apologies. I could have sworn I journalled this when I returned home from the convention, but when I came to write my thoughts on it I couldn't find it on my shelf.
I enjoyed this a lot, du Maurier's writing and description of the moors was great and the ending was not at all what I expected.
