I picked this book up whilst on holiday in Ibiza, it was left in a kind of 'swap shop' area in the hotel. I read and enjoyed this book a while ago (not sure why it hadn't been registered until now), it's not really like 'Call the Midwife' though!

I'm meeting up with some other bookcrossers this evening, and will take this book with me - either to stay there, or for another bookcrosser will take it home - watch this space...

Picked this up at the meet tonight.

The story of a district nurse from the north of England in the 1950's. It begins with her childhood and then tells about her first job as a kennel maid. Her nursing training began just before WW2 and we follow her through the war where she meets her future husband .
This is an enjoyable book, very down to earth and written with a sense of humour.
