Marjane Satrapi has had quite an eventful life: it was interesting to read about it, and the graphic novel format was very effective.

The book ran into some trouble in Chicago this year when it was apparently pulled from the shelves...even though officials subesequently denied their actions.

There have also been attempts to ban the film based on this book in Lebanon and Iran.

Left inside zpizza for quietorchid's banned book challenge and Plum-crazy's September Sapphire challenge; only a cruddy iPod photo because the battery for the real camera was dead.
