This is Book #3 in Sue Henry's (Maxie and Stretch) series of four books.

Her Winnebago pointed north, the "endearingly mature" Maxie McNabb is ready for some R & R Alaska style. But a frantic call for help has her reluctantly leaving behind her canine ally, Stretch, and flying off to Hawaii--WHAT--for what will be no relaxing vacation. . .

This book is a part of the US Only BookRing for the (Maxie and Stretch) series of four books. If you'd like to join in the BookRing PM me (weeder) and let me know if you want to receive all four books or only certain ones. The first book will be mailed out Oct. 1, 2015 with one book being mailed each month after that. Maxine's "job" takes her to some pretty spectacular places, first Alaska, then Taos NM, and then HAWAII! I'd like to have a job like that!

This is the third book in Sue Henry's Maxie and Stretch mystery series, and it is set in Hawaii. The setting is, in fact, the strongest element of the book. The mystery itself doesn't hang together particularly well, but the armchair travel to Hawaii is pleasant!

My favorite book in this series is The Tooth of Time, which is set in Taos, New Mexico. I also very much enjoyed the first book in Henry's Alaska Mystery series, Murder on the Iditarod Trail.

Thank you again, weeder, for sharing this book with me!

"The Refuge" by Sue Henry slid back through my mail slot this afternoon in fine condition. It's Book # 3 in the (A Maxie and Stretch Mystery) series.

I have all four books in the series and would be happy to mail any or all of them to any BC'er in the US. However, I do want them mailed back to me after they're read.
