When all contact is lost with two Icelanders working in a harsh and sparsely populated area on the northeast coast of Greenland, Thóra is hired to investigate.
Is there any connection with the woman who vanished from the site some months earlier? Why are the locals so hostile? And could one of the team staying at the site with Thóra be responsible for the disappearances?

----------

This is the fourth novel of Icelandic writer Yrsa Sigurdardottir, featurimg th solicitor Flora Gudmundsdottir, a single mother and now grandmother, thanks to her teenage son.
The story is set mainly in Eastern Greenland at an isolated settlement, where a drilling company is leading a project. Three workers have gone missing without the remaining staff being able to retrieve them. Are they dead due to some natural cause, have they been killed? The rest of the team now have left Greenland and refuses to return to the site.
The story covers a lot of different themes, like the loss of indigenous peoples' heritage and tradition, alcoholism, workplace bullying, ...
This is a novel a bit different from other Nordic novels, but very enjoyable.
