Journal Entry 1 by wingPrimel75wing from Inzlingen, Baden-Württemberg Germany on Saturday, November 1, 2003
Barry Trotter is 22 and has never left the Hogwash School of Magic - there's been no need; after all G. K. Rollin's books about him have made him a millionaire and Barry is perfectly happy to while away his days as a perpetual loaded student. But then comes the news that Hollywood is planning a film of Rollin's first book about Barry...

Geht heute weiter, fand ihn einfach zu gemein.
Gut, Satire muss sein, aber dieses schien mir Satire um jeden Preis zu sein.

Bin halt zu sehr ein Fan vom echten Harry Potter....

Journal Entry 6 by dorle from Berlin (irgendwo/somewhere), Berlin Germany on Tuesday, December 2, 2003
it just arrived with the dailypost.. thanks to goldloeckchen :-))

Update vom 7.12. :
Ok, I just finished the book. The first pages were really good but from line to line it got crayzier. I mean the book is just totally exaggerated. It'*s good to wirte a satirical book. But I shouldn't be too crazy. And that exactly is the point in this book.
While reading the book I sometimes wondered what drugs the author did take.
Please don't think that I'm that great Harry Potter fan. I read all of the books but from book to book they got worse, so I thought, ok, then I try Barry Trotter...

But It's not THAT bad, it was just the first charpters that were a bit confusing :-)

Don't get too influenced from my statment, please :-)

To fe-rien, have a lot of fun with the book!

Journal Entry 8 by fe-rien from Berlin (irgendwo/somewhere), Berlin Germany on Tuesday, December 23, 2003
I recieved the book today. Thanks a lot to Dorle. I will take it on a holiday trip to Austria. ;-) Merry X-mas!

After reading a few pages I didn't actually wanted to read Barry Trotter any further. Dorle shares my opinion about the drugs in the book. Fortunatly, I hoped for more, read it to the end and found it funny, actually. This book is beyond any reason, a book that should be locked up for kids, not without a special sense of humor. Michael Gerber finds the merchandising of the hp books hilarious, nevertheless the hype about Harry Potter I think, got him very good sales figures of his own book. But now we go to ravn, have fun!

Die "Übergabe" wird heute gegen 18h im CaBiBu stattfinden.

Oh, ahem, yes, I did actually get the book and I'm half through it by now. I second dorles opinion that the parody is a bit forced from time to time, but I think I will keep reading till the bitter end. ;)

Soeben aus dem Briefkasten geholt. Werde es so schnell wie möglich lesen. Habe aber noch einen anderen Bookring...

Journal Entry 12 by elhamisabel from Frankfurt am Main, Hessen Germany on Saturday, February 7, 2004
I didn't like it. Except the first chapter which was interesting for the idea of it, all the rest seemed only to be written to make money out of the Harry Potter Hype. It wasn't a good try. I didn't finish it because, frankly, I won't waste my time with some crap. Fortunately I never bought it when seeing it in a bookstore. Just waste of money!
I'm sending it to PinkElf sometime next week.

Journal Entry 13 by PinkElf on Wednesday, February 18, 2004
I have the book now. I am very curious and very skeptical because I really like the Harry Potter series. I just finished the fifth book.

Journal Entry 14 by PinkElf on Monday, March 8, 2004
I finally finished this book. It was hard, because it's a boring book. I didn't want to finish it, but then I was curious if it was any better in the end. So I tried to read a couple of pages a day. In the end it's funnier and now I'm not sorry I had to read such a boring book. Actualy, it's pretty good.
I will send it to the next in line these days.

Journal Entry 15 by Lightdancer from Wien Bezirk 12 - Meidling, Wien Austria on Monday, March 29, 2004

Too much is too much ! Satyre is here put to its top and it is a pitty because the book is quickly lossing of its interest.
Was not bad but also not the best book I red these last months.
Don't be too influenced by my opinion and J.E. please :-)
Book will leave Belgium to Switzerland (Wildspitz) on Monday 02/08/2004.
Good receipt and happy reading.

Journal Entry 19 by Wildspitz from Baar, Zug Switzerland on Sunday, August 8, 2004
Barry Trotter arrived safely yesterday. I will start with the book tomorrow.

Journal Entry 20 by Wildspitz from Baar, Zug Switzerland on Wednesday, August 11, 2004
To be honest, I did not finish the book. Although some wrote, that the end is better, I gave up after about half of it, wich happens to me very rarely. Some ideas were funny, but overall I found the book boring and could not really get myself to reading it. It was just too much. Maybe I did not understand all of the jokes, because I am not a native English-speaker.

I hope, the next readers will like it more.

Journal Entry 23 by Die-Spinne from Barcelona, Barcelona Spain on Tuesday, September 7, 2004
Desite what almost everybody who has read it before me had said, I've found this book very funny.
I have to accept thaht sometimes is really crazy and even that it seems that Mr. geerber has been smoking "something" before he wrote a certain parts of the book, but I've laughed a lot with the crazyness and cynism in this lines.

Now I'm sending it to Isis-Osisris, Hope she enjoys it sa munch as I've done.

Journal Entry 24 by isis-osiris on Thursday, September 16, 2004
I've just received by messenger...there's nothing like working in a big enterprise, jeje...
