I ordered this manga from Barnes and Noble in hopes of getting it in time for a zombie-themed bookbox, but it didn't quite make it. I'd found out about it via its TV Tropes page; sounds rather offbeat, with the undead characters not being quite your typical zombies...

Later: Offbeat, yes. There's this black ring that only certain characters can see, and if it appears around someone's neck it means they're going to die. When people appear who are still alive but have these solid-black rings around their necks, it's a sign that something's wrong - and that's what the "zombie loan" process is about: the two main characters are among these "shouldn't be alive" folk, and are maintaining their existence by hunting down the illegally-not-dead folk. Since high-school-girl Michiru turns out to be one of the few who can see the black rings, she's drafted to help the guys hunt down their prey.

But of course things can't be that simple, and sure enough, Michiru sees another black ring - on her own neck...

There's a lot of goofy banter between the main characters, but I'm not sure where the "pay off the increasingly-large loan" concept is going to go.

I plan to leave this book on one of the gas pumps at around 12:30 or so; hope the finder enjoys it!
