The 50 books covered in this collection run in chronological order from Pride and Prejudice (1813) to The DaVinci Code (2003), and include such diverse titles as Crime and Punishment, Peter Pan, Winnie-the-Pooh, Casino Royale, Valley of the Dolls, Jaws, Harry Potter...
Ten nonfiction are also included, from Samuel Johnson's The English Dictionary (1755) to A Brief History of TIme (1988).
Of course, after reading the story behind all these titles, it was inevitable that some would make their way onto my Books-I-Must-Now-Plan-To-Read list (shamefully enough, I'd only read 13 of the 40 fiction titles! :-( and one of the nonfiction (All the President's Men).

Picked out of the bookish bookbox and adding to the stash of TBRs! Looks interesting.
from MaryZee's bookish book box; As the title says - the backstory behind 50 books. Interesting how some of the authors only had one, and others churned out lots of reading material. And to answer the question in the title, originally it was Pansy O'Hara in Gone with the Wind. CAn you imagine GWTW without a Scarlett? This will be moving along again in another bookish book box.
Originally from MaryZee's Bookish bookbox, now into the books bookbox. Enjoy!
