I read this a chapter a day in the lead up to Christmas 2009. It was a sweet story.
Received a little while ago, many thanks bigcurlyloz for sending this to Stubee and apologies for not catching it earlier.
This is a really sweet tale that reinforces the message of Christmas in a lovely and unusual way. I have to say it's also a good history guide, I felt like a learnt lots of facts about history and the changing landscape of the continents through the ages as the tale went along.
I really wish I'd been able to do the same as bigcurlyloz and read a chapter a day in the run up to Christmas but we selected this as our December bookclub read so I couldn't. It's probably a good job as instead I read it in a few days as I really wanted to know what happened to Elisabet next and who she would meet!
I would really recommend this as an interesting but simple Christmas story.
I've now passed this on to Stubee.

Thanks KT-J and bigcurlyloz! I'm on the 7th December, hopefully I'll have this finished today!
I'm a bit torn with this one, I enjoyed the story, the concept was good and well executed but I found it too repetitive at times.
I really didn't like the ending either it didn't really solved anything for me and I was expecting more.
That being said overall it was a good, easy read which is what you want in a Christmas story I guess.

I've just received this book, which was on my wishlist. I think I will wait for a while and read it later on, when the weather becomes more inviting to read Christmas stories. Then, I will release either through a RABCK or in the OBCZ I've just created here in my town. Thank you so much, stubee!
I saved this book to read over the Christmas holidays and I think this was a good decision, because I was able to enjoy it better. It reminded me a lot of Sophie's World, by the same author, which I have read a very long time ago. There is also a mystery, in this case related to Christmas, which is revealed day after day, in small doses that increase the suspense. Although it is a very simple story and I liked it a lot, I found the end a too hurried and very unsatisfactory because whatever the cause, child abduction is not a crime that can be whitewashed.
Thank you stubee, for sharing! The book is now available for other bookcrossers.
