I like Pollan's other books so far.
This one contains small simple advice for how to select what you eat - to eat the good stuff.
The advice is collected from old grandmothers' wisdoms, old sayings, and tips readers have submitted. Some advice work without additional details, some come with some explanation. Also it's in clear English, no science talk - except in some reference books maybe.
This book was in its previous life (which was short, under 2 years) a book in Austin's public library. The ex-library copy told me it wanted to travel, so I bought it from APL's sales to let it do many more years and many more places as a bookcrossing-book.

Safe journey little book - I hope you'll make many new friends on your travels!

"Don't ever apologize to an author for buying something in paperback, or taking it out from a library (that's what they're there for. Use your library). Don't apologize to this author for buying books second hand, or getting them from bookcrossing or borrowing a friend's copy. What's important to me is that people read the books and enjoy them, and that, at some point in there, the book was bought by someone. And that people who like things, tell other people. The most important thing is that people read... "

I picked up this little book on a bench in Stewiacke, Nova Scotia. Originally, I thought it was lost, but to my great surprise, discovered it was a traveling book! I originally planned to leave it somewhere in New Hampshire while I was there visiting, but I didn't get a chance to read it before we left the state. So, it returned back to Nova Scotia with me and I've now passed it on to my mother who is taking it with her to Cincinnati, Ohio, where I hope it finds an interesting new path. Overall, I'm glad I held on to it. A nice little book with lots of useful information.
