The book arrived this morning, safe and sound, though smelling slightly of gasoline. I'd say it sat too close to the exhaust pipe of my postman's motorcycle. No worries, the smell is already wearing off as I type. ;)

Looking forward to reading this. There's been a lot of hype about the book and the films, and I'm curious to find out if it'll hold my interest.

Thank you, okyrhoe for organizing the spiral.
I'll let you know 30-50 pages in, if I'm sticking with it for all three parts. :)

Well, despite my being hectically busy, I am already on page 327! :)
Another week, at most, and I will have finished reading.

The book really drew me in. I struggled the first 20 or 30 pages as my brain just wasn't processing the profusion of names, business lingo and facts in general. But once my brain caught up, it was easy sailing. It is actually very refreshing to read a mystery/thriller written with a more complex structure and language than books of this genre usually are.

I am now really, really looking forward to the next book. Okyrhoe, send away! :)

In the meantime, I'll get the addy of the next reader so book one can leave as soon as I've finished.

CONTROLLED RELEASE NOTES:

Ha! This was a surprise... Book one wrapped up case number one! I like that... Was expecting & dreading having to wait to get books 2 and 3 to see how the story ends, but it seems each book is a story in itself. Hurrah!

The book is now in the care of the Post Office, on its way to timcorke in UK.
Hope you'll enjoy it as much as I did.

Thanks for sharing okyrhoe! :)

Thank you ever so much for sending this through and apologies for not updating the journal. I've got a couple on the go at present but will get to round to it shortly to send on.

Just got back from a litterpick, BBQ and game of rounders on the local beach so settling down for a few chapters to unwind..ahhhh

Wow - what a read!

I'd heard and read a lot about the Larsson novels and it wasn't until the series became available on bookcrossing that I managed to experience them for myself.

At first I wasn't sure as the introduction and character building seemed to take an age but page by page the pace quickened to become an instant favourite.

I loved the intricacies and side plots that combined to develop a story of the highest calibre and one well deserving of the plaudits it has already received.

It has set a modern benchmark in how mystery thrillers should be written regardless that the story was written many years ago and will be recommending to everyone I speak too.

Be warned - TGWTDT has aspects that can be quite disturbing and brutal and whilst relevant to the storyline could be upsetting for some readers.

I've made enquiries to send on and reposted in the forum but as far as I can make out the Rrrcaron is the last person to date.

Oh My God I loved this book. Actually lost hours of sleep because I couldn't put it down! Can't wait for the next to arrive. I was kind of sad at the end for Lisbeth, but I know there is so much more to look forward to. Contacting owner to see where the book goes next!
