Hitchcock obviously thought it was good: he turned it into a movie with Lawrence Olivier and Joan Fontaine. The sequel, by another author, pales in comparison.

This book arrived safely, thank you very much.
Rebecca was one of the top 21 books in the BBC Big Read survey, and sounded very good from the programme made promoting it.
I look forward to reading it, thanks for sharing.

Just in case I don't get the chance to make a final entry before the next person does:

I'm thoroughly enjoying this book. I can't put it down! I was instantly dragged in to the characters, and the mood created.

I'm taking this book to the UK National Convention (known as Unconvention) where it will probably get passed on to someone else as soon as I've finished reading it. We're currently discussing it in the on-line reading group formed as an offshoot of the BCUK mailing list.

I'll be looking out for another copy of this book as a keeper!

If I don't get a chance to make another journal entry before the next person journals it I'll update this entry once I've finished reading it.

I loved this book! I finished it in the coach to Birmingham for the Unconvention and found myself stopping every so often to make it last :-)

I thought the narrator was a bit feeble when she first moved into Manderley, then I slept in a hotel for two nights and began to sympathise with her.

A great book read as a mystery, love story or even ghost story. I'm so glad I read this book - I passed it on to perfect-circle at the Unconvention as she had it on her wish list.

picked up from Loopy1 at the Unconvention, this is a book I've wanted to read for some time. Thanks

I've been looking out for this for a while, partly because of it featuring in the BBC's Big Read top 21. I thoroughly enjoyed the story and, like Loopy1, found myself stopping just to drag it out, I definitely didn't want it to end, but when it did, I felt a little disappointed. I think I was expecting some big ending which never materialised.

Have spotted this on someone else's wishlist and will be passing it on to them once I have an address.
